Super comfy shawl collar cardigan with peplum and button closure. Perfect for the office or for leisure. Together with the subtle eyelet edgings, the peplum transforms this hand knit jacket into more than just a humdrum cardigan. The peplum gently slopes away below the waist to create a slenderizing effect.
The crisply folding front edges are faced for an immaculate finish. The two buttons provide a classy closure. Back neck shaping insures that shoulder seams do not slip to the backside or hike up the front edge.
The best fitting garments are those which fit at the shoulders. Very detailed instructions include measurements which allow for any fine-tuning of the overall fit. This shawl collar peplum cardigan is also an excellent candidate for employing bust darts for an even more individualized tailored fit. Contouring with short rows and/or vertical bust darts can create the ultimate in fitted knit apparel. Knit gauge in Stockinette Stitch is 5 stitches and 7 rows per inch on Size 7 US needles, a fairly standard worsted weight gauge.
Required Yardage: 1144 [1194, 1355, 1536, 1689, 1893, 2103, 2332] yds of any worsted weight yarn or combination of finer yarns which produce gauge.
