Peplum Jacket Pattern with Border Trim and Double-Knit Collar

I am so pleased with this knit hemmed jacket with its flirty subtle peplum and optional textured border patterning. Both elements add a more feminine dressy look to an easy fast knit. The tailored lines add sophistication to the playful flare of the peplum. A photo of the knit hemmed peplum jacket unbuttoned is included in order to reference the length below the waistline, which is easily altered according to individual taste.

I always want to be sure of a perfect shoulder width. More than anything else, shoulder width is the key to a well-fitted garment. This is easily adjusted with measurements and tips included in the instructions.

Structurally the double-knit collar on this peplum cardigan provides its own support. It stands well on its own and does not flop about or splay flat against the shoulders. Easy detailed instructions are included for the double-knitting. The finish along both inside and outside neck edge is immaculate.

Neatly constructed buttonholes on the Right Front are repeated on the Right Front Facing. Crisp turn rows are created for all hems and facings. Both Fronts and the Back are knit together in one piece up to the Armhole. Since it is impossible to design for every possible body shape and design option, measurements are included throughout the instructions to allow adjustments to be made for the perfect personal fit, as desired.

Knit gauge in Stockinette Stitch is 5 stitches and 7 rows per inch on Size 7 US needles. This produces a fairly standard worsted gauge.

Required Yardage: 1104 [1176, 1375, 1458, 1644, 1883, 2005, 2231] yds worsted weight yarn.
