Loose and comfy, this tucked dress may be soft as a batiste cloud or crisp as striped ticking, providing a wonderful showcase for a special vest, like the Scoop Neck Vest illustrated here with the tucked dress. Long front and back tucks extend the entire width of both the front and the back bodices, as well as accenting the bottom surround.
This tucked dress pattern puts to rest the problem of tucked bodices turning out under- or over-sized, depending upon the EXACTLY replicated tuck size dictated by most tucked clothing patterns. It also eliminates the time-consuming pinning along each tuck's stitching line and fold line. These tucks are sewn BEFORE the pattern pieces are cut out, so the tucked bodice will fit every time. It is SO much easier.
This pattern would also create a darling nightgown.
