Connie Hester is the author of internationally distributed self-help and how-to books. With an M.S. degree in Special Education, she first taught children and teens in a residential psychiatric hospital on a medical school campus as part of an entire treatment team. She later gained international success as a textile artist, an instructor of art and fiber workshops, and a designer of sewing patterns for comfortable, stylish clothing, receiving the designation of "Texas Original" from the Texas Commission on the Arts in 2005. After a lifetime of energy work, including numerous lapses until she came to understand it herself, Hester (an Usui Reiki Master/Teacher) now participates as an Associated Teacher with the Reiki_On online teaching list of over 6,100 members and on the Immediate Response Team of the Distant Healing Network.

Hester's extensive training in developing individualized special education materials serves her well in succinctly describing the step-by-step thought processes, attitudes, behaviors, and evolution of subtle energy work.
