Hand Knit Dress Pattern

Sizes 8 - 18. (Finished chest 37 1/2" - 41 1/4" - 45".)

Classic style radiates from this popular hand knit designer dress with flattering drape and fit. Knit with fine fingering-weight cotton yarn, 2100 yds per lb (about 26 wraps per inch). I prefer size 5/2 perle cotton, but any yarn which produces the required gauge would be appropriate.

1200 yds Ivory and 2800 yds Sky Blue are needed for sizes 8 through 18.

Knit gauge in Stockinette Stitch (knit 1 row, purl 1 row) is 8 stitches and 11 rows per inch on Size 2 US needles. This is a stable gauge, and if cotton is used, it will not sag, distort, or stretch out of shape (as can happen with too loose a gauge).
